2010 Porsche Cayenne
Porsche has been hard at work developing the latest iteration of its money-making Cayenne SUV and the new version has been spotted by our spy photographers once again -- this time testing at the Nurburgring wearing barely any camouflage.
Although it looks very similar to the current Cayenne thanks to Porsche's evolutionary approach to redesigns, the second-generation model is said to be smaller, lighter and more fuel-efficient. Our spy photographer also points out that this new Cayenne handled corners with greater ease than its predecessor, so some chassis tinkering is likely afoot as well.
door-mounted mirrors like those on the Panamera, a more sloping greenhouse, and reworked taillights and tailgate. The giant platter-size rotors that can be seen behind the wheels of this particular prototype could mean that this is the Turbo model.
In addition to the expected V-6 and multiple V-8 models, diesel and hybrid versions will also no doubt be offered (at least in Europe). A range topping version powered by a V-10 is also rumored to be in development -- although given the present emissions regulations, we'd be surprised if it makes it past the drawing board. Expect it to show up at an auto show later this year, either alongside the 911 Turbo at Frankfurt in September or in Los Angeles in November, with sales beginning roughly mid-year 2010 worldwide.
Audi A4 Allroad Quattro
Speculation about an Audi A4 Avant Allroad has been circulating for nearly a year now, fueled by spy shots of high-riding A4 sedans. Until now, the go-anywhere Allroad trim has been limited to the larger A6 Avant, and Audi has said little about plans to build a smaller model. Thanks to the latest spy pictures, though, it's safe to say that the car exists and could be nearing production.
popular in Europe, they've been a tough sell in the U.S. An Audi executive recently admitted to Motor Trend that the Avant line hasn't done well in the U.S. and may be replaced with Audi's new "Sportback" design language. Bolstering this possibility is the fact that an Avant model for the 2009 A4 has not yet been announced for the U.S. market, and the fact that the last Allroad model sold in the U.S. didn't perform well.
As with the A6 Allroad, the A4 Allroad is certain to use Audi's quattro all wheel-drive system and the Allroad package will likely be available only on the Avant model. Given this, it's likely the next Allroad will not see U.S. shores, as the car would probably not sell enough models to justify the cost of bringing it here. It's expected that the A4 Allroad will officially debut sometime later this year as a 2010 model for Europe.
2010 Ford Taurus
ou're looking are the latest spy photos of the new 2010 Ford Taurus. Ford is betting big on its updated fullsize Taurus sedan, which will make its world debut at the 2009 Detroit auto show.
2010 Taurus will feature updated powertrain options, and Ford will once again refresh the vehicle's styling, the previous iteration of which -- first seen on the Five Hundred and then slightly updated when Ford changed the name back to Taurus -- failed to jumpstart sales of the sedan. From the looks of the spy shots, it is possible new Taurus, which features Ford of Europe styling cues, might attract more buyers in the shrinking fullsize sedan segment. |
